Yajie Qin is a graduate of Tsinghua University, with a bachelor's degree in Environment Design. During her college, she won the Jury award for landscape design in the UNI International competition in 2020 and the Sinno-Finnish Challenge award for an animated short. After college, She interned at the United Nations, where she assisted in web and animation designs. Then she found her love for storytelling, she worked as an assistant art director for commercials, and web series in China. She started to work on films as a production design fellow at AFI in 2021.
